Steir

The Steïr , river having its source with Cast (Finistere) and throwing itself in the Odet in Quimper after a course of 29 km. Its old name is Eier and one finds the name in localities like Prateyer ( Prat + Eier = “the pre one of Eier”). “Ar ster Eier” ( the river Eier ) gave Steïr. Many mills marked out its course of which the last in the city itself called the Mill-with-Duke .
