Stefan Wolpe

The county of Santa Cruz is a county of the State of California to the the United States. With the census of 2000, it counted 255.602 inhabitants. Its seat is Santa Cruz (California).

It is one of the original counties of California, created in 1850. Its name was first of all " Branciforte" , according to the name of a Spanish village founded in the area in 1797, but it was changed less than two months later for " Santa Cruz".
