Stefan Askenase

Stefan Askenase , born the July 10th 1896 with Lviv and dead the October 18th 1985 with Cologne, was a Pianiste polono - Belgian.

After having begun the piano with his mother, he was the pupil of Emil Sauer with Vienna in 1914 - 1915, then of Joseph Marx. He became piano teacher to the Academy of the Cairo in 1922. He turned over food to Brussels in 1925 where he remained all his life. He was a recognized professor, and counted among his pupils Martha Argerich and Mitsuko Uchida.

Among its recordings, its versions of Chopin are very appreciated.
