Stawell

Stawell (: 6134 inhabitants) is a city of the area of " Wimmera" in the state of Victoria in Australia. The city is located at the north of the county of the Grampians to 237 kilometers in the western northern west of Melbourne

The site was occupied by Europeans in 1853 at the time of the gold rush and was called " Pleasant Creek" then was famous Stawell in the honor of Sir William Foster Stawell (1815-1889), a former president of the Court of Appeal of Victoria.

Stawell is known to be the main door of the National park of Grampians.
