Origin and geographical distribution

The staufer is obtaining Gerhardt Al by crossing Bacchus X white Villard in the installations of the Institut für Rebenzüchtung Geilweilerhof in Siebeldingen (Palatinat) in Germany. The type of vine belongs to the list of the type of vine classifications for the production of wine following Article 20 of payment (EC) n° 1227/200.

The surface planted in vine is of 3 hectares (2001).

The white Wine is neutral approaching the Sylvaner.
