State de Kano
Kano is a State of the north of the Nigeria. It draws its name from its capital, Kano.
History
The State corresponds about to old the emirate of Kano which dominated the area before the Colonisation Britannique.The State was created the May 27th 1967 of a division of the Région of North, it is then the State more populated of Nigeria. Into 1991 the State is divided into two to form the State de Jigawa, thus establishing the current borders.
The State is currently the prey of the interreligieuses violences, caused in particular by the militia Moslem morals , the Hisba S.
Geography
The State is bordered in the North-West by the State de Katsina, in the North-East by the State de Jigawa, in south-east by the State de Bauchi and in south-west by the State de Kaduna.
The main cities, in addition to the capital Kano, are: Dambatta, Gwarzo, Karaye, Kazaye and Ririvani.

Culture
The Haoussa and the Peul are the two only languages used in the state, except for the Kurama still used in the area of Tudun Wada.
