State de Guanajuato

Guanajuato is a State Mexico located on the central plate. Guanajato is also the name of the capital and principal city of the State. The origin of the name Guanajato comes from the word Quanaxhuato which means in Purépecha mountainous place filled with Grenouille S .

Geography

Surrounded by the States of San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Michoacán and Jalisco, Guanajato occupies a surface of 30.589 km ² and counted approximately 4.893.812 inhabitants in 2005.

History
