Cross-country race To rivet is a State of the south east of the Nigeria. It draws its name from principal the Rivière which crosses it.

History

The state was created the May 27th 1967 under the name of state of south-east (in English South-Eastern State ) after a cutting of old the state of the east ( Eastern State ). The reform of the February 3rd 1976 gives him its current name of Cross To rivet . The September 23rd 1987 the part corresponding to the state of Akwa Ibom is extracted to lead to the borders of the actual position.

Geography

The state is bordered in the east by the states of Akwa Ibom and Ebonyi, in north by the state of Benue, in the west by the Cameroun and in the south by the Atlantic Ocean.

The main cities, in addition to the capital Calabar, are: Akamkpa, Ikon, Obubra, Odukpani, Ogoja, Okundi, Ugep, Obudu, Obanliku and Akpabuyo.

Divisions

The State Cross-country race To rivet is divided into 18 LGA ( local Government Area ): Abi, Akamkpa, Akpabuyo, Bakassi, Bekwarra, Biase, Boki, Calabar Municipal, Calabar South, Etung, Ikom, Obanliku, Obubra, Obudu, Odukpani, Ogoja, Yakurr and Yala.

Economy

The Agriculture is the most important branch of the economy. It is divided between a private agriculture of survival made of small firm S, and the large plantations of state whose production is intended for the Exportation. The production relates to mainly the Manioc, the Igname, the Riz, the Banane S, the Maïs, the Cacao, the rubber, the potatoes and the Coconut. The government also tries to promote the Pisciculture.
