Starshooter

Starshooter is a group of Punk French.

It is made of Kent Hutchinson (guitar and song), Jello (guitar), Mickey Snack (low), Phil Pressing (battery).

History

The career of the group starts around 1975 with Lyon. A legend wants that they began under the name of Scooters (only one trace discographic, the resumption of “Sweet Jane” under the name of “Hygiene” on compilation 30 greater successes of the punk of the mythical label Skydog). In fact this title was recorded after the first album under pseudonym for simple problems of contract (information given by Jello itself on the site devoted to the group, to see low).

After a certain number of concerts (first part of The Damned or Jacques Higelin for example), the group signs at EMI. In 1977, the first 45 turns leaves in the tread: “Which Crisis Baby”/“Fair Pinup”.

The exit of the second 45t in 1978: “Get Baque”/“In made building site” of the movements, it should be said that the diversion of famous “the Get back” of the Beatles is rather disrespectful. Blow the disc is withdrawn from the sale at the end of one week.

Despite everything Starshooter succeeds in making enter “Betsy Party” at the head of the charts of Europe 1, incredible thing for a title muscular French rock'n'roll in 1978. The group is essential with Téléphone like a new phenomenon of the French rock'n'roll.

The first album, simply entitled Starshooter , leaves in 1978 and is very well accommodated. One finds there “Betsy Party”, a version of the “Poinçonneur of the Lilacs” of Serge Gainsbourg, “35 tons”. The resumption of the Beatles is credited opposite 2 and barred with the back of the small pocket but on the disc itself is not reproduced.

Mode, leaves in 1979 with the subtitle: This year youth will be intelligent and sexy . Opportunist, Starshooter seek with surfer on the vague disco music and start their pure and hard image of rockers. Ludic and coloured album, (“New wave”, “Turkish delight scandal”…) has evil to always find its public, although the failure of the albums is to be relativized, according to Jello.

At the Others leaves in 1980, the album with the small pocket of Kiki Picasso with titles like “Washing machine” or “Louis Louis Louis”. The departure of their producer Philippe Constantin to push them to leave EMI.

They leave then to CBS which leaves Pas Tired in November 1981. Dark and depressive album with the more marked, riper musical style.

Six months after the exit of the album, Starshooter separates.

Kent then starts a rich person career solo who always continues. It carries out also several cartoons.
