Starsem

Starsem is a company Russo - European, created in 1996. Its Head office is with Évry, in France.

It employs twenty-five people who are in load of the marketing of the services of the Russian launcher Soyuz on the international market.

Mission

Starsem to date carried out nineteen launchings, of which those of the interplanetary probes, Mars Express and Venus Express, of the telecommunications satellites Globalstar, of the European satellite of meteorology MetOp as well as the remote star researcher Corot.

Launching will be possible in 2009 since the Guianese Space center, Kourou. Launchings will then be marketed by the company Arianespace, operator of launching of the Guianese Space center.

Shareholders

The shareholders are:
  • European aeronautic defense and space company (EADS), which holds 35  %
  • the Russian federal Space agency (FKA), which holds 25  %
  • The Samara Space Center (TsSKB-Progress), which holds 25  %
  • Arianespace, which holds 15  %
