Starfighter ( The Last Starfighter ) is an American film carried out by Nick Castle and produced in 1984.

Synopsis

Alex Rogan is an young man who lives with his mother in a caravanning of mobil-home: Starlite, Starpite . He shares his time between his boyfriend Maggie and the inhabitants of the caravanning who ask him without stop his assistance. When it finds a finally little time for him, it plays Starfighter , a play of Shoot' EM up on Borne of arcade whose slogan is: “ Starfighter Hello, you were recruited by the stellar league to defend the border against Xur and armada KB-daN ”. One evening, Alex beats the record of the play under the admiring eyes of all the inhabitants of the caravanning. A little later a strange vehicle arrives. On its board, Centauri, a man who announces to him that he is the creator of the play Starfighter . It will teach him that the play is actually a simulator to discover those which have the capacity to control a stellar vessel of combat and which the threat of Xur and armada KB-daN is quite real.

Remarks

Starfighter is the very first film to present a realistic spaceship in synthesized images. The aspect of the vessels remains close as of the imagery of the video games which the film takes as a starting point. It should be noted that the film contains approximately a score of minutes of entirely virtual scenes space, which is an exploit for the time.
