StarCraft is a Strategy game in real-time created by Blizzard Entertainment. Initially left in April 1998 concerned video for PC, a version Macintosh was carried out in 1999. An adaptation for Nintendo 64 was carried out in 2000.

The history proceeds in a future distance, where three races on a galactic scale clash: the Terrans, kind of community of convicts, rejected by humanity, wandering through the solar systems in robust vessels called Armoured; the Zerg S, a race of insects equipped with a collective conscience of which the goal is the colonization of new planets, as well as the assimilation of the third race; the Protoss, of the warriors humanoïdes to the great psychic capacities, fighting for the safeguard of their planet mother: " Aiur".

All the force of this title results from the great diversity related to the management style of the three races. In spite of quite different techniques, those reached, with the wire of the patches, a balance without precedent in a play of combat. Today still, almost 10 years after its exit, StarCraft remains among the best strategy games.

It was the play more sold during the year 1998 and gained a Origins Award Better Strategy game on Computer of the year. Since its exit, nine million specimens of StarCraft and its extension, StarCraft: Brood War were sold throughout the world. Beyond the play, StarCraft is a true social phenomenon in South Korea, where the best players become genuine stars who fight at the time of televised matches and are sponsored.

A continuation, named StarCraft II, under development, was revealed at the time of the annual conference of Blizzard Entertainment.

Social impact

Certain countries as the South Korea starifient the Tournoi S and their Champion S of StarCraft.
