Synopsis (without major revelation)
The galaxy is managed in the form of a galactic République, by a senate gathering the representatives of the various worlds belonging to the Republic and whose seat is located on the planet Coruscant. That made more than thousand years that the Republic functions in this form without major crisis.
The knights Jedi, holders of a mystical capacity thanks to '' the Force '', are the justice and policemen through the galaxy.
The Federation of the trade makes the decision very badly to tax trade route imposed by the senate and decides to impose a blockade on Naboo, a peaceful planet. Two Jedi, Which-Gon Jinn and its Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, will carry out the negotiations.
But the blockade is in fact part of a plot aiming at invading Naboo; Jedi succeed in fleeing with the queen of Naboo, Padmé Amidala. During their escape, they land on Tatooine where they meet a human young person slave of the name of Anakin Skywalker. Their destiny is related to this slave, only able to enable them to obtain parts to repair the vessel…

Comments
The film was very awaited by the community of the Fan S. It consists primarily of an installation of the situation and characters, and thus constitutes a difficult exercise, because of the deficit of action.
One finds in this film:
- a scene of race of pod: this scene is a homage to the race of tank of Ben Hur and made tradition with the track races of the episodes of Star Wars , George Lucas being a fan of automobile race.
- a purely comic character, Gravel bank Gravel bank Binks: this character and his blunders want to be to be a homage to the burlesque humor and in particular to Buster Keaton.
In addition, the scenario is often considered to be simplistic on certain points as the accumulation of chances in the final space battle. The scenario is also predetermined by the intrigue of the preceding opus. In other words, the new intrigue of George Lucas is subordinated to “narrative constraints”. Consequently, the history is more or less foreseeable. All the anecdotes told by the characters in the first trilogy are misent in images in the second.
Visually, it sets up an environment Baroque, in which the “technological requirements” are always combined with a medieval esthetics /Renaissance/Art nouveau.
Star Wars is not if science fiction that; the birth of Anakin, elected official of the force carried by his mother alone is only the illustration of the birth of Jesus-Christ. The code jedi is then their Bible, the good way to be borrowed with the clear side of the Force and that not to follow, the obscure side of the Force. The film is and remains more than one simple cinematographic prowess. The fans who look at Star Wars do not make that to live film, they dream it.
