Starčevo

Starčevo , in Serb Cyrillic Старчево, is a town of Serbia located in the autonomous province of Voïvodine. It belongs to the municipality of Pančevo in the district of the southernmost Banat. In 2002, it counted 7.582 inhabitants.
The name of the city means " the place of old the homme".
History
The Culture of Starčevo, old a Danubian civilization tonic with 6.000 before Jesus-Christ, is named according to the city because of the archaeological discoveries which were made in the vicinity. The Culture of Starčevo culture disappeared in the neighborhoods from 4.200 front J.C., with the insasion of the Pélasges.
