Stanley Smith Stevens
Stanley Smith Stevens (1906-1973), eminent Psychological American, was the founder of the laboratory of Psychoacoustique of Harvard. One owes him the description of the curves of isophonie.
More generally, it contributed to the Psychophysique by proposing a Loi of power connecting the physical size of a Stimulus and the intensity perceived, said Loi of Stevens.
Author of many articles, Hearing, its psychology and physiology (1938) and his Handbook off Experimental Psychology (1951) still refer in the field.
