Stanley Payne

Stanley G. Payne (born in 1934), Historian American contemporaneist . He is especially known for his work on the Spain Franquiste and on the Fascisme. Payne discussed the theses of Zeev Sternhell on the French Fascisme.

Works of Payne were prohibited of publication under Franco. Thereafter, Payne was to support that the Spanish left had in a caused way conscious the military putsch of 1936, in order to be able to realize, under the control of Moscow, a political and social revolution after the defeat of the rebellion.
