Stanislas Dehaene
Stanislas Dehaene is a cognitive Psychologue and Neuroscientifique French born the May 12th 1965 with Roubaix (59). Its principal fields of research relate to the cerebral bases of the Arithmétique and the Numération, the Lecture and the Conscience, sets of themes which it explores with the means of experiments of cognitive psychology and by the cerebral Imagerie, in particular functional IRM.
Former student of the National university (1984-1989), of initial training in Mathematical then maths applied, it carried out his Doctorat in the field of the experimental Psychologie, under the direction of Jacques Mehler, this last having been one of the principal promoters of the cognitive Sciences in France. He was elected member of the Academy of Science on November 29th, 2005, and is professor with the Collège de France with the pulpit of cognitive Psychologie experimental. Stanislas Dehaene is director of the laboratory UNICOG, mixed unit INSERM - cognitive ECA of Neuroimagerie at the hospital service Frederic Joliot with Orsay.
The work of Stanislas Dehaene which jointly exploits the methods of cognitive psychology and the cerebral imagery, concerns cerebral architectures of the Arithmétique, the reading, the spoken language, and the conscious access, which led it to be interested in the Dyscalculie and the Dyslexie.
