Stanislas Champein

Stanislas Champein is a French type-setter, member of the Institut, born with Marseilles the November 19th 1753 and died in Paris the September 19th 1830.

He is known by spiritual partitions of which several remained a long time with the repertory of which:

  • the French Soldier , Op3era Comique, 1779;
  • Mélomanie , 1781, parody of the Italian music;
  • New the Don Quichotte , that the author made pass for a Italian opera, and who misled the Italians themselves.

Champein entered in 1792 the administration: he was prefect with Mainz.
