Stanisław Dziwisz
Mgr Stanisław Dziwisz (French Stanislas), born the April 27th 1939 with Raba Wyzna (Poland), is the Archevêque of Cracow since its nomination with this load by Benoit XVI. He took possession of his archbishop's palace the August 27th 2005 in front of 80.000 faithful at the time of a ceremony in the cathedral of Wawel. He had been created cardinal the March 24th 2005; for this reason, it is also titular Sainte-Marie church of the People to Rome.
Very discrete and entirely devoted character, it forever made any public verbal statement before its dedication.
Previously, Stanisław Dziwisz was the personal secretary of the Pape Jean-Paul II during all his pontificate. The two men, compatriots and large sporting, had known themselves on a ski slope. Then auxiliary bishop of Cracow, Karol Wojtyla had ordered it priest in 1963. Become archbishop of Cracow, it called it at its sides to be its secretary. Stanisław Dziwisz ensured this role the sides of the archbishop in Poland until in 1978 then with the the Vatican at the sides of Karol Wojtyla become the pope Jean-Paul II until the death of this last, the April 2nd 2005.
Jean-Paul II indicated Stanisław Dziwisz to be his executor. For this reason, it was to destroy all the notes of the late pope, but admitted not to have been able to be solved there, estimating that “all should be preserved, kept for the history, for the future generations”
Biography
Born the April 27th 1939 with Raba Wyzna (Poland), Stanisław Dziwisz is the fifth of a family of seven children, five boys and two girls.
His/her father, Stanisław, were railroad worker and his/her mother, Sophie, raised her children within a framework of evangelic charity.
Stanisław father died brutally during the war, reversed by a train whereas it had only thirty-nine years.
After the elementary school, Stanisław wire entered to the college of Noury Targ where the vocation of minister of God came to him to mind. It thus entered to its majority to the seminar in 1957 when it had during several years the father Karol Wojtyla, future Jean-Paul II, as professor of moral theology. Raise shining, it was very quickly noticed by Karol Wojtyla
It accepted the crowned orders of the hands of the Wojtyla father and was sent as vicar in the parish of Makow Podhalanski.
Two years passed and it left the parish to resume its studies. It began a research task in license, then in doctorate devoted to the worship of Saint Stanislas in the diocese of Cracow.
Then in October 1966, he was convened by Mgr Wojtyla, then new archbishop of Cracow. " As soon as I was vis-a-vis him, the archbishop looked me in the eyes and says to me: " You will come at home. The Dziwisz father was thus engaged by Mgr Wojtyla as secretary and it followed it until its death to the throne of Pierre.
Formation
Stanisław Dziwisz obtained, with the faculty of Cracow, a license in Théologie, in 1967, then a Doctorat in theology, 1981.
