Standard signal box PRS

This Signal box was the station of reference during nearly 35 years on the French railway network. Its cost is today higher than that of the other types of stations and it has neither the standardization of PRG, nor the specific functionalities of the data-processing stations (programming of circulations, management of protections, modularity of exploitation).

The orders are carried out by buttons of routes (single gesture) or authorizations and switches established on a table laid out vis-a-vis an optical control board (operating burnup) mural. Pressing a button makes it possible to obtain the establishment of a route contrary to the station lever where the pointsman must operate various levers…

Existing PRS were modified (in a more or less important way) to adapt them to new conditions of operating, for example, by order ascending of importance:

  • the remote control, by another PRS (exploitation in unchanged mode PRS) or a system MISTRAL;

  • the data-processing order by means of a Standardized System of Data-processing Order (SNCI), not helped (exploitation in data-processing nominal mode and help in mode PRS, example: Sartrouville);
  • the data-processing order by means of a helped SNCI; it acts in this case of a PRS computerized (PRSI, example: Versailles-building sites)).

In remote control, if the data-processing module dedicated to this function is doubled (with " reserve chaude"), the perhaps removed local order.
