Standard PCA or gélose for enumeration
This medium is used for the enumeration of the revivifiable aerobic micro-organisms also named FMAR (Standard AFNOR NF T 90-401 and 402)
PCA comes from English Plate Count Agar who wants to say Gélose for the enumeration. It is an ordinary medium, without inhibiters, the goal being to count the whole of the Bactérie S able of cultivated has 30°C which were on a surface or in a food.
compostion of the medium
-
peptone: 5,0 G
- extract from yeast: 2,5 G
- Glucose: 1,0 G
- agar: 15,0 G
- pH = 7
Presentation
There exists in the trade of the boxes of contact making it possible to make taking away of surface. The taking away of surface are an indicator of control of the procedures of cleaning/disinfection in agribusiness industry. These boxes which contain this gélose are of form curvature (convex meniscus) in order to allow more a large surface of contact with surface. the bottom of these boxes is in more squared to facilitate the reading.
reading
One observes on the medium of the colony S bacterial and sometimes from the moisissures.chaque colony comes from a UFC (Unit Forming Colony) that wants to say that one considers that the colony is resulting is of a bacterium, a Spore which germinated, which was present on surface or in food, or of a cluster of bacteria so tight that they form only one colony.
