Stan Mikita

Stan " Stosh" Mikita - born Stanislav Gvoth (born the May 20th 1940 with Sokolče in Slovakia) is a former player of Hockey Slovak]]. It gained with four recoveries the ultimate trophy of the National league of hockey, the Coupe Stanley.

Biography

In 1948, constrained by the Communist regime to be exiled, the Gvoth family sends their young person wire food in parents to the Canada. He lives with his aunt and his uncle in Ontario and knows a difficult childhood because he must often support the mocking remarks of the other children, him which does not speak by a traitor word about English. He takes the family name of his uncle and lets his aggressiveness be expressed on the skating rinks of hockey. He plays on level junior with his town of adoption Saint Catharines (Teepees de Saint Catharines) and obtains to carry out a test at the professionals in 1958 with the Blackhawks of Chicago. He gains a permanent station in the National league of hockey in 1959.
