This article counts the stamps of Tunisian Tunisia emitted in 2006 by La Poste.

Twenty-three stamps and a block-layer are emitted on thirteen occasions which spread out between the March 15th and the December 10th.

Life centenary of died of Ibn Khaldoun

A commemorative stamp is emitted the March 15th to commemorate the 600 years of the disappearance of the thinker and Arab historian Ibn Khaldoun born with Tunis in 1332 and died in Egypt in 1406. Tunisia was particularly indicated by UNESCO to organize events of commemoration through scientific conferences, road shows, a cultural tourist tour in the Médina of Tunis where it passed its youth and its years of studies, etc

The stamp, of a format 28 X 41 mm, is drawn by Hichem Ben Hammed. It represents Ibn Khaldoun carrying a book with the hand. In the background the chart of Tunisia appears which saw it being born and growing.

Of a facial value of 390 millimes, the stamp is emitted to 1.000.000 of specimens.

50e birthday of independence (1956-2006)

A series of 7 commemorative stamps as well as a block-layer gathering them are emitted the March 18th to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of Tunisia obtained the March 20th 1956.

The stamps present in a form allegorical and stylized important achievements since independence, of the Code of the personal status allowing the early emancipation of the woman on a world arabo-Moslem scale, until the construction project of the suspended bridge between Radès and Goulette in the suburbs of Tunis.

4 stamps have a facial value of 250 millimes and 3 of 390 millimes. Of a format 28 X 41 mm, they are emitted each one to 1.000.000 of specimens.

April

Dialog between civilizations and the religions

A stamp is emitted at the time of the behavior in Tunisia of an international symposium on this topic which the Tunisian capacity wants to propose by creating the Chaire Ben Ali for the dialog of civilizations and the religions.

The stamp, of a square format 36 X 36 mm, represents a mosaic 3rd century of Chinese inspiration taking as a starting point the Yin and Yang, certainly brought back by travellers having borrowed the Silk route. It is exposed to the archaeological Musée of Sousse.

Jewels and jewels of the punic and Roman eras

A series of 4 stamps commemorative representing of the archaeological parts discovered in Tunisia and preserved in museums is emitted the May 18th at the time of the world Day of the museums.
  • a stamp of 250 millimes, drawn by Mokhtar Ben Boubaker, accounts for 2 fasten gold clothing of the 5th century discovered on the site of Thuburbo Majus and preserved at the National museum of Bardo (on blue bottom).

Special program for the employment of the handicapped people

A stamp devoted to the programme of use of the Handicap be is emitted the May 29th at the time of the national Day of handicapped installation following the relative law at the promotion and the protection of the handicapped people of the August 15th 2005.

Of a format 52 X 37 mm, the stamp, drawn by Mokhtar Ben Boubaker, represent in the foreground the silhouettes of 3 associated handicapped people being held the hand and, in background, a toothed wheel, a Ordinateur, buildings symbolizing the economic sectors as well as a Drapeau of Tunisia contained in an irradiant solar disk.

Of a facial value of 2350 millimes, the stamp is emitted to 1.000.000 of specimens.

June

National plan of cleanliness and the environment

A stamp devoted to the environmental policy is emitted the June 11th at the time of the national Day of the cleanliness and the protection of the Environnement.

Of a format 52 X 37 mm, this stamp represent a photograph of Mohammed Ali Essaadi showing a total sight of the Avenue Habib Bourguiba in Tunis after its refitting with in medallion a sight brought closer to the monumental clock built to commemorate the change of presidency in 1987.

Football world cup

A series of two stamps commemorates the football world cup which was held in 12 towns of Germany between the June 9th and the July 9th 2006. The team of Tunisia of football took part for the 4th time since 1978 in most prestigious of the world competitions of football.

Of a format 52 X 37 mm, the stamps, drawn by Sihem Chaabane and Mokhtar Ben Boubaker, represent footballers in action under the banner of the flags Tunisian and German associated with, in background, a regional chart where the 2 countries are highlighted.

50e birthday of the creation of the national army

A stamp is emitted the June 24th at the time of the fiftieth anniversary of the birth of the Tunisian Armée at the following day with the independence of the country.

The stamp, of a format 52 X 37 mm, represents a man and a woman soldiers holding up in concert a torch with military symbols such as stars, of the weapons (machine-guns and sabers), an escutcheon of the air force and branches of olive-tree symbolizing peace.

July

50e birthday of the relations tuniso-Japanese women

A stamp commemorating the 50 years of the diplomatic relations between Tunisia and the Japan is emitted the July 7th.

Of a format 52 X 37 mm, it represent the bridge Radès it Goulette built and financed by Japan which should enter according to here 2008 below which two hands with the colors of the two countries being are stylized on the point of tightening itself.

Of a facial value of 700 millimes, the stamp is emitted to 1.000.000 of specimens.

National plan Holiday-Safety

A stamp is emitted the July 31st to sensitize with the Risque S specific related to the period of the estival holidays (traffic accidents and on the Plage S, Incendie S of Forêt, etc)

August

Fiftieth anniversary of the Code of the personal status

A stamp is emitted the August 13rd, at the time of the festival of the woman, to commemorate the 50 years of the Promulgation of the Code of the personal status, legislation progressist and émancipatrice for the Tunisian woman.

Of a format 52 X 37 mm, the stamp, drawn by Mokhtar Ben Boubaker, represent a balances, attribute of the Justice, below which a silhouette of young woman in 3 situations émancipatrices appears (study, work and appearance in public space).

November

19th birthday of the Change

A stamp is emitted the November 7th at the time of the 19th birthday of the change of presidency which has occurred the November 7th 1987 and which put an end to that Habib Bourguiba for the benefit of Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali.

The stamp, of a format 52 X 37 mm, drawn by Sihem Chaabane, represents a traditional symbolic system unit: 7 stylized multicoloured, balances (justice), family of 4 members, irradiant sun, Globe where Tunisia is highlighted, number 19, arobase (NTIC) and years 1987 - 2006.

Universal declaration of the human rights

A stamp is emitted the December 10th at the time of the 58e birthday of the Universal declaration of the human rights of 1948.

Of a format 52 * 37 mm, drawn by Mokhtar Ben Boubaker, this stamp represent Tunisian institutional symbols and U.N..

Of a facial value of 700 millimes, the stamp is emitted with 500.000 specimens.
