Stamps of New Caledonia 2005
This article counts the stamps of New Caledonia emitted in 2005 by the Office of the stations and telecommunications.
General information
The emissions are marked “New Caledonia RF Post offices 2005” (RF for French Republic) and a facial value made out in Franc peaceful (XPF). They are valid in this Pays of overseas related to France, and profiting from a broad postal and philatelic autonomy.
Postage rates
The postage rates at the beginning of New Caledonia depend on the destination and the weight of the fold:- interior mode for the folds bound for the country,
- external mode according to three zones (the two last rise from the tariffs of La Poste metropolitan):
- zone 1: Oceania of which French territories of Polynesia and Wallis-and-Futuna,
- zone 2: Metropolitan France, country of Europe and others DOM-TOM French,
- zone 3: Africa, America and Asia.
June 20th, the tariff of the letter of less than 20 grams bound for zone 2 pass to 110 XPF. With the wire of the following weeks, five stamps of 100 XPF in all (triptych “Dolphins” and two stamps of everyday usage to the standard Cagou) are overloaded “+10F”

February
Year of the cock
February 9th, is emitted a stamp and a block-layer of two stamps to announce the Chinese New year, through the astrological sign of the year: the cock. The stamp of sheet of a facial value of 100 XPF represents the animal with the naturalness in front of a decoration made up of elements pointing out the Chinese culture. The block of two stamps of 100 XPF is a scene: around a Buddha, a cock and a monkey (sign of the finishing year) anthropomorphic greet themselves.The square stamp of 4 cm east coast the work of Claude Andréotto and is printed in offset in sheet of ten specimens. The block is drawn by Jean-Paul Véret-Lemarinier and is printed in offset.
The stamp and the block are withdrawn from the sale on July 21st, 2006.
Rotary International
February 23rd, is emitted a Timbre commemorative round of 110 XPF for the centenary of the philanthropic association Rotary International. The stamp takes again the logotype of association.The stamp of round form is registered in a square of 3,8 cm and is printed in sheet of ten specimens.
It is withdrawn from the sale on July 21st, 2006.
March
Francophonie, division of the cultures
March 17th, within the framework of a joint emission with Wallis-and-Futuna, is emitted a stamp of 135 XPFMarch 17th, within the framework of a joint emission with New Caledonia, is emitted a stamp of 135 XFP on the topics of the Francophonie and the division of the cultures, at the time of the 10th week of the francophonie from March 17th to 26th. Four characters, each one of a different skin color, read in a natural decoration a titrated book of the name of the two topics. The emission coincides with the 20th birthday of the Alliance Champlain, a New Caledonian association of promotion of the French language.
The drawing, commun run with the two overseas territories French, is signed Sebastien Lesire. The stamp of 4 × 3 cm is printed in offset in sheet of ten specimens.

April
International triathlon of Noumea
April 22nd, is emitted a stamp of 80 XPF to announce the 20th international Triathlon of Noumea, on April 24th. The drawing represents the three sports on bottom of palm trees and ocean.The stamp of 5,2 × 3,1 cm is drawn by Jean-Jacques Mahuteau and is printed in offset in sheet of twenty-five specimens.
It is withdrawn from the sale on July 21st, 2006.
May
Operation Cetacea
May 21st, is emitted a triptych of stamps of 100 XPF each one on the Dauphin S, represented under water among fish, at water surface or jumping above close to the shore. The three species represented are the Dauphin mottled of the Pacific ( Stenella attenuata ), the Grand dolphin ( Tursiops truncatus , typography erroneous of the stamp: Turciop truncatus ) and the Dolphin with long nozzle ( Stenella longirostris ). Opération Cetacea is an association which promotes the protection and the knowledge of the marine mammals.The stamps of 4 × 3 cm are drawn by Jean-Richard Lisiak. The triptych is printed in offset in sheet of five bands of these three stamps.
In July 2005, the stamps of this triptych are overloaded of 10 XPF to follow the increase in the postage rates of June 2005.
The triptych is withdrawn from the sale on July 21st, 2006.
The rail calédonien
May 21st, is emitted a stamp of 745 XPF on the “rail calédonien”, the railroads in New Caledonia. Declared public utility in 1884, a line connecting Noumea to Dumbéa opens in 1904, and goes until Païta in 1914. It closes in 1939, victim of financial problems. The stamp represents under two angles an engine with vapor; one circulates in a landscape calédonien.The stamp of 3,1 × 5,2 cm is drawn by Jean-Richard Lisiak and is printed in offset in sheet of ten specimens.
It is withdrawn from the sale on July 21st, 2006.
Turn of coasts. Saint-Pierre
May 21st, is emitted a stamp of 75 XPF on the service of Tour of coasts carried out by boats of Cabotage which made the turn of the island to transport momentary and goods. They were replaced gradually by the motor vehicles. The stamp represents the Saint-Pierre , one of the ships of the Société of the turn of coasts. On the right-sided, the house of the STC côtoie with the chart of the stopovers.The stamp of format 5,2 × 3,1 cm is the work of André Lavergne. It is conditioned in sheet of twenty-five units.

June
June 20th, the postage rates are modified at the beginning of New Caledonia and bound for outside. Especially, the price of the stamping from a letter of less than 20 grams bound for the zone 2 (whose Metropolitan France) is from now on of 110 XPF. In the weeks or months which follow, three emissions are overloaded “+10F” to mitigate the shortage in stamps of 100 XPF.
July
Operation overloaded Cetacea
In July (or in November), the stamps of the emitted triptych on May 21st are overloaded of 10 XPF to follow the increase in the postage rates of June 2005.
Aquarium of Noumea: sharks
July 20th, in the traditional series Aquarium of Noumea, is emitted an illustrated block-layer of two stamps of 110 XPF each one. Two Shark S, pertaining to the species visible with the aquarium of Noumea, are emphasized in this marine basic landscape: the Shark with black points ( Carcharhinus melanopterus ) and the Shark sleeper ( Nebrius ferrugineus ). On the layer, are also visible two other specimens of sharks with black points and a tortoise.The block and the stamps of 5,2 × 4 cm are signed Jean-Jacques Mahuteau and are printed in offset.
The withdrawal of the sale takes place on February 23rd, 2007.
August
Everyday usage Cagou, type of Lavergne
August 10th, is emitted two stamps of everyday usage of 1 XPF and 3 XPF with the standard Cagou de Lavergne. They are values additional making it possible to the customers to use the stamps with the old tariffs.The stamps of 2 × 2,6 cm are drawn and engraved by André Lavergne. They are printed in Taille-douce in sheet of one hundred specimens.

Parakeets of New Caledonia
August 24th, are emitted three stamps of 75 XPF out of three species threatened of Perruche S of New Caledonia: the horned Parakeet ( Eunymphicus cornutus ), the Parakeet of Ouvéa ( Eunymphicus uvaeensis ) and the Parakeet with red face ( Cyanoramphus saisseti ). The stamps carry the logotypes of two associations of protection of the birds: the Company calédonienne of ornithology (SCO), itself affiliated with International Birdlife.The stamps of 2,6 × 3,6 cm are drawn by Laurence Ramon. Printed in offset, they are conditioned each one in sheet of twenty-five specimens.

Beach of Luengoni with Lifou
August 24th, is emitted a tourist Timbre of 85 illustrated XPF of a photograph of the beach of Luengoni, seen by an observer since the forest. It is in the south-east of Lifou, in the islands Loyauté.The illustration is of the photographer Pierre-Alain Pantz. The stamp of 2,7 × 4,8 cm is printed in offset in sheet of twenty-five units.

Conference of WHO, area of the Western Pacific - Noumea 2005
September 14th, is emitted a stamp of 150 XPF to announce the behavior from September 19th to 23rd 2005 of the 56e Conférence of the the World Health Organization for the area of the west of the Pacifique, with Noumea. The horizontally lengthened stamp introduces five characters vêtus or decorated with manner traditional since the inhabitant of the the Himalayas or the Mongolia to the people of the Pacific.The stamp of 7,6 × 2,6 cm is the work of Jean-Paul Véret-Lemarinier. It is printed in offset in sheet of ten specimens.

World day for peace: My dream of peace
September 21st, is emitted a stamp of 85 XPF for the world day for peace, the day-even. The illustration is poster drawn by Mendoza, a Filipino child , for a contest organized by the Lions Clubs. It represents four children of different origins which presents a Puzzle completed together landscape bucolic to the medium of which a house is; in the house, a smiling couple holds a baby.The stamp of 3 × 4 cm is put on page by Aurélie Baras, according to the drawing of the Mendoza young person. It is printed in offset in sheet of twenty-five specimens.

October
Everyday usage Cagou, standard Lavergne and Lisiak
October 17th, both stamps of everyday usage of 100 XPF to the standard Cagou of Lisiak and Lavergne are re-emitted overloaded “+ 10F” to correspond to the increase in the postage rates of previous June.Cagou known as of Lisiak is drawn by Jean-Richard Lisiak and is engraved by André Lavergne. Cagou known as of Lavergne is drawn and engraved by André Lavergne. Both are printed in Taille-douce in sheet of one hundred stamps of 2 × 2,6 cm.

November
The governor of Bouzet
November 10th, is emitted a Timbre commemorative of 500 XPF for the bicentenary of the birth of Eugene of Bouzet (1805-1867), marquis, Gouverneur of the French possessions in Oceania in the years 1850 and finally promoted Rear-admiral in 1858. It is represented by two portraits at different ages, like one of its sailing ships.The stamp of 3,1 × 5,2 cm is drawn and engraved by André Lavergne. Printed in Copper-plate engraving, it is conditioned in sheet of ten specimens.

Petroglyphs calédoniens
November 10th, are emitted three stamps of 120 XPF representing of the Pétroglyphe S discovered on Large-Ground: wrapped crosses, a Ouaré and a representation of Trott, an indigenous name of New Caledonia.The petroglyphs are reproduced by Claude Andréotto and engraved by him to be printed in Taille-douce. The stamps with format 4 × 3 cm are conditioned in sheet of twenty-five specimens.

December
common Destiny
December 7th, is emitted a stamp of 190 XPF representing a titrated contemporary Sculpture common Destin , to include/understand that of the various people present in the archipelago. Made out of wood, metal and glass, it puts in scene a snake with two heads facing, in the middle of branches.The sculpture is the work of the plastics technicians Adjé and Ito Waïa, with the assistance of the Fonds of contemporary art kanak and océanien (FACKO) and of the Arts center Tjibaou. It is page layout on a stamp of 3,1 × 5,2 cm printed in offset and sheet of twenty-five specimens.

Insects of New Caledonia
December 7th, three stamps of 110 XPF on local insects are emitted, three Chrysomèle S: Bohumiljania caledonica , Bohumiljania humboldti and Cazeresia Montana . They are represented with the naturalness on the edge of a sheet, and also drawn in black contours seen with the vertical.The stamps of 4 × 3 cm are drawn by Laurence Ramon and are printed in offset in sheet of twenty-five stamps.

Merry Christmas
December 7th, is emitted a stamp of Christmas of 110 XPF. The scene is that of a Father Christmas bringing his gifts on a small ship on the veil of which a Christmas tree is drawn. Another Father Christmas blows in the sail. This is observed by a dolphin.The illustration is drawn by Jean-Richard Lisiak. The stamp of 3 × 4 cm is printed in offset in sheet of twenty-five units.
