Stamps of Mayotte 2006

This article counts the stamps of Mayotte emitted in 2006 by La Poste.

General information

The stamps are marked “Mayotte RF La Poste 2006” (name of the community/French Republic/postal operator/year of emission) and a facial value in Euro (€).

They serve to free the outgoing mail from the community as overseas.

January

The grater of coconut

January 16th, is emitted a stamp of 0,53 € on the grater of the pulp of the Coconut, ingredient of kitchen. In front of a house, a squatted housewife prepares her coconut thus.

The drawing is of R. Reboul for an impression in offset in sheet of twenty-five stamps.

The demonstration first day takes place on January 14th. The seal takes again the character of the stamp in his work.

The stamp is withdrawn from the sale on August 31st, 2007.

February

March

The beach of Moya

March 20th, is emitted a tourist Timbre of 0,48 € showing the landscape of the beach of Moya, on the island of Pamandzi.

The drawing is signed D. Ranucci for an impression in offset in sheet of twenty-five stamps.

The demonstration first day takes place on March 18th. The seal begins again appeared of the stamp.

The stamp is withdrawn from the sale on August 31st, 2007.

Protection of the tortoises

March 20th, is emitted a block of three stamps of 0,53 € to promote the protection of the marine tortoises. The unit illustrates the life of a specimen: life in the ocean, the laying on a beach and the first moments of small.

The block is drawn by Frederic Cadoux and is printed in offset.

The demonstration first day takes place on March 18th. The seal first day represents a group of tortoises.

The block is withdrawn from the sale on August 31st, 2007.

April

May

Amphidromes

May 15th, is emitted a stamp of 1,07 € on the Amphidrome S, of the ships which can sail in the two directions.

The drawing is signed Daniel Vacher for an impression in offset. The stamp of 4,8 × 2,7 cm is conditioned in sheet of twenty-five specimens.

The demonstration first day takes place on May 13rd. The stamp on date represents a amphidrome.

The stamp is withdrawn from the sale on August 31st, 2007.

The market in bush

May 15th, is emitted a stamp of 0,53 € illustrated of a painting the Market in bush : two women sell obviously fruits and vegetables in front of a hut, in full sun.

Painting is of Vincent Rocher. Of format 4,8 × 2,7 cm, the stamp are printed in offset in sheet of twenty-five units.

The demonstration first day takes place on May 13rd. The seal takes again part of the illustration of the stamps.

The stamp is withdrawn from the sale on August 31st, 2007.

June

Chart of Mayotte mention “Phil@poste”

In June 2006, to mitigate a shortage, the printing works of Phil@poste Boulazac receives a request of the office of Mayotte to withdraw stamps of 0,02 gray €, 0,05 € dark green-blue and 0,10 € purple of the series of everyday usage to the type Carte of Mayotte . Compared to the stamps of same values precedents emitted in 2004, they are marked of printer “Phil@poste” substitute “ITVF” since the renaming of the philatelic service of Metropolitan France.

These stamps “Phil@poste” are discovered in 2007 by a collector: La Poste de Mayotte did not communicate on this pulling. The dated corner discovered carries dated June 16th, 2006.

Emitted for the first time on January 4th, 2001, this standard on which the relief of the island is represented in black and white on a linked bottom of color, is drawn by Vincent Lietar. The stamps of 1,7 × 2,3 cm are printed in offset in sheet of one hundred.

July

Shizia Mlili

July 3rd, is emitted a stamp of 0,53 € representing a plant like the Aloès, the Shizia mlili ( Aloe mayottensis ).

The stamp of 2,6 × 3,6 cm is drawn by Herve Louze for an impression in offset in sheet of twenty-five units.

The manifestion first day took place on July 1st with Kani-Kéli. The seal takes again the plant and the detail of a stem in flowers illustrating the stamp.

August

September

Dance of moulidi

September 11th, is emitted a stamp of 0,75 € presenting the dance of Moulidi, a religious holiday.

The illustration is created by Nathalie Murat-Thévenot. The stamp of 4,8 × 2,7 cm is printed in offset in sheet of twenty-five specimens.

The demonstration first day takes place on September 9th with Sada. The seal takes again the illustration of the stamp.

The frangipanier

September 11th, is emitted a stamp of 0,53 € on the frangipanier of the species Plumeria alba whose petals of its flowers are yellow in the center and white outside as a branch flowered on the line of the stamp shows it. The remainder of the illustration is devoted to the overall vision of the tree.

The stamp of 3,6 × 2,6 cm is drawn by Christine Louze for an impression in offset in sheet of twenty-five specimens.

The demonstration first day takes place on September 9th with Coconi, on the commune of Ouangani. The illustration of the stamp (tree and sight close to a branch) is taken again on the seal on date.

October

November

The tropic bird

November 20th, is emitted a stamp of 0,54 € representing several specimens of tropic bird ( Phaethontidae ), of the birds to the very long central feathers.

The square stamp of 3,6 cm east coast drawn by Nadine Murat Thévenot for an impression in offset in sheet of twenty-five.

The demonstration first day takes place on November 18th with Dzoumogne, on the commune of Bandraboua.
