Stamps magazine
Timbres magazine is a monthly magazine of the philatelic press French official subtitle “of philately” the, resulting one from fusion in 2000 of three magazines: Le Monde of the philatelists of the group Le Monde, Timbroscopie and Timbroloisirs of the editor Timbropresse. At the conclusion of fusion, Le Monde SA became one of the shareholders of the Timbropresse public limit company. The marked cause of this fusion was the narrowness of the market of the philatelists French.
History
In 2000, the unified draftings tried to preserve the best of the three magazines of origin. Detailed informations and meticulous research of the World of the philatetists and Timbroscopie , while giving a key of relaxation and by proposing the aspect leisures of the philately which the small size Timbroloisirs incarnated. This last thus brought in dowry its contest of “World cup of the stamps” during which the readers elect the most beautiful stamp and the best postal administration out of philatelic matter.In September 2004, the magazine launched a petition to show with the French post office the attachment of the collectors to the stamps engraved and printed in Taille-douce vis-a-vis the domination of other modes of impression developing photography and with the Gravure computer-assisted (GAO). He is founding member of an association of promotion of engraving, created at the end of 2004 and named Art of the stamp engraved. Several out of the ordinary was devoted to engravers of stamps.
As from 2005, the magazine and its editor association Gauthier Toulemonde launch the idea to make folds obliterated and dispatched by itself since exotic places during adventurous voyages: Clipperton in 2005 during the forwarding of Jean-Louis Etienne, the North pole and banks of the Maroni in French Guiana in 2006. These voyages give place to the publication of a philatelic DVD, with the autumn 2006.
In February 2007, with the customer support of the company Places fabric, the drafting inaugurates a WebTV, TV Stamps , on the site of the magazine.
Among the competitors of Stamps magazine , one finds the oldest review philatelic French still published, the Echo of the timbrology .
Le Monde of the philatelists
Le Monde of the philatelists was a philatelic magazine published by the group of the newspaper Le Monde .This daily newspaper has since 1946 a weekly chronicle on the philately, whose first chronicler was Adalbert Vitalyos. It obtains Hubert Beuve-Méry the creation of a philatelic magazine, Le Monde of the philatelists . Number 1 appears in October 1951. The drafting of the magazine depends then directly on the director of the Monde . Vitalyos is the editor association of 1953 to 1977 and continues for it its weekly chronicle in the daily newspaper until 1986.
Since 1954, it is subtitle “the official one of philately” after the purchase of three concurrent reviews of which one carried this subtitle.
The last number is appeared in March 2000, and was amalgamated in Timbres magazine with two of the publications of the Timbropresse competitor.
Timbroscopie
Timbroscopie was the magazine emblematic of the Timbropresse group. It is created by Georges Bartoli and appears of March 1984 in March 2000 and was subtitle: “the magazine of active philately”.
Timbroloisirs
Timbroloisirs was a philatelic magazine of the Timbropresse group, which wished to widen the assistantship of Timbroscopie to the initial philatelists and to give new ideas of collections to confirmed (by country, topics, etc). A system of cards out of light paperboard is set up to bind an instructive text and the place for stamps illustrating this matter, system included in Timbres Magazine . These objectives are summarized in a subtitle: “the magazine of the happy collectors”.This magazine appears autumn 1989 (n°0) in March 2000 (n°125) before being integrated in Timbres Magazine .
Koalec
In its will to widen its assistantship with a larger audience, Timbropresse published during the year 1999 “the magazine of all the collections” intended for the children and titrated Koalec . The title appeared according to a rate/rhythm two-monthly during one year before disappearing.
