Pat Martino (Stalemate Azzara) is a Guitariste and Compositeur of Jazz italo - American born on August 25th 1944 with Philadelphia (the United States of America).
Biography
Pat Martino reached its first agreements at the 12 years age and became professional in 1961. It is by his/her father, Carmen " Mickey" Azzara, singer in local clubs of Philadelphia having taken some lessons of guitar with Eddie Lang, which he will discover the jazz and will learn the music between good hands: Denis Sandole for the harmony, lessons with johnny smith (this famous legato) and some meetings with Wes Montgomery. One can find his father who has as a name of scene " Al martino" and which is the equivalent of Franck Sinatra in Godfather 2 (the singer of the marriage).The style of Stalemate Martino is inimitable: incisive creator and, one phrased Legato, very rapid, and harmonically very rich, do of them one of the principal guitarists of Bebop following the example Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery or Jim Hall.
