Stage of Ice
the Stage of Ice is a Patinoire of Hockey and a room polyvalante located at Bienne.
Use
The skating rink is the residence of the HC Bienne thus which many teams of the area biennoise. The versatile room has a capacity of 8000 places. Except hockey and ice-skating, it can also accommodate concerts, tournaments of football in room, exposures or other demonstrations of great scale. That thanks to a mobile ground which extends in a few hours directly on the ice.
History
The Stage of Ice at summer built in 1973 under the impulse of Willy Gassmann, the president of HC Bienne of the time, it is then the first covered skating rink of the town of Bienne. At the beginning the stage could contain: 9500 spectators but with the wire of the year the capacity was reduced to: 7200 (: 3200 numbered sitted places and: 3800 places upright) for safety reasons. Its record of multitude is of: 9411 spectators in 1975.Today, the Stage of Ice aged and a new skating rink should see the day in 2011. The project is already presented to the public and the city has to accept the construction of this new " project; Stages of Bienne" " including two skating rinks (of which a glaze), a stage of Football with training ground and a room of Curling. A popular voting on this subject is organized on December 9th, 2007 for this project.
