Stage of Dillon
The Stade of Dillon is the principal stage of the town of Fort-de-France and the greatest stage of Antille-Guyana.
Dedicated to football and the athletics, its capacity is of 16.300 places.
It is the stage of several local clubs and the great appointments of football inhabitant of Martinique. The Colonial Club is however the principal user of the enclosure. The annual event most important proceeds in April with meeting IAAF of the General advice (Grand Prix II): a meeting of Athletics attracting many foreign champions.
The August 24th 2005, it accommodated the ceremony of national homage for the victims of the Air crash of the West Caribbean, in the presence of the president of the French Republic Jacques Chirac and of his counterpart Venezuelan Hugo Chavez.
The November 9th 2005, the team of France of football played there its first match ever disputed overseas vis-a-vis the Costa Rica.
