Stage of Bouaké

The Municipal Stade of Bouaké ( that one calls also the Stage of the peace of the ceremony of the Flamme of peace ) is a stage of Football of Ivory Coast which is located in the town of Bouaké. It can accommodate 35.000 sitted spectators. It was especially built to accommodate, with the Stade Felix Houphouët-Boigny, the matches of the Coupe of Africa of the footballing nations 1984. It is the greatest stage of the country after the Félicia (50 000 places). The rehabilitation of the Stage of Bouaké was the first of the process of rehabilitation and revival of all the stages of Ivory Coast.

Structure

The Stage of Bouaké of a dimension of 119 X 73 (football-Rugby), was built in the shape of a crown Ovale with a profile across 24 steps.

Black period

During the crisis of the Ivory Coast (October 2002 - Mars 2007), all the sporting programs were cancelled, the stage was deserted due to occupation to FN. According to testimonys of civilians installed with Bouaké, this stage would have been used as place of execution of police officers, gendarmes and soldiers, of the governmental force by the New Forces.

Historical events

the match Coast-D' Ivory - Madagascar is a historical appointment for the national reconciliation, a point which belonged to the Accord of Ouagadougou. This is why the match with caused much interest (5-0 for the Ivory Coast).

Work of rehabilitation

The Stage was in work of rehabilitation (like are all the national stages in this moment in the process of rehabilitation and revival of the stages of the Ivory Coast started), the delegation of FIF, composed of a half-dozen of people passed the stage to the fine comb, of the lawn to the official cabin while passing by the cabins of the written press, the cloakrooms, the platforms, nothing was not neglected. The end of work was planned for on June 3rd, 2007.

According to indiscretions (revealed by It Inter ), the total costs of this rehabilitation could be high between 200 and 300 million F CFA (either approximately: 305.000 to 457.400 €) to see more. It is in this stage that, according to the wishes of Didier Drogba, balloon of gold African 2006 and captain of the Eléphants, the return match Coast-D' Ivory - Madagascar, cash for the 4th day of the eliminating heats of the Coupe of Africa of the footballing nations 2008, was held.

The official cabin , les' gradins' , the cloakrooms , the protective grills as well as the infirmary was entirely renovated . For that, it is necessary to add the showers , the toilets of the players and those of the general public which were remade. On the level of the safety , nothing was neglected. Walls were set up at the exit of the cloakrooms to avoid any contact of the players with the public. According to the experts of Fif and ministry, all was done in accordance with the international standards (FIFA). However a large concern remains, the quality of the lawn .
