The stage Mohamed V belongs to a great sports complex located in the middle of the town of Casablanca, Morocco, it was inaugurated the March 6th 1955, and today it has a capacity of: 67000 places.

Often sheltering the matches of the Moroccan national team of football, the stage Mohamed V is also known to be the stronghold of the two large clubs casablancais, the Rajah and the Wydad.

History

Inaugurated the March 6th 1955, under the name of Stage Marcel-Cerdan, the stage had a capacity of: 30000 places. One year later, after the independence of Morocco, it took the name of Stade of honor .

At the end of the years 1970, in order to prepare the Mediterranean Plays 1983 in Casablanca, the stage was closed for a great restoration; increase in its capacity, installation of the electronic panel, and construction of the general sports covered room and the swimming pool covered around the stage, it reopened in 1981 under its new Stade Mohamed V and with a capacity of: 80000 places.

In 2000, the stage knew a new restoration for the candidature of Morocco for the organization of the World cup, of the seats of colors green and red were installed limiting its capacity to: 67000 places, which is always its current capacity.

Today, the entire complex contains in addition to the stage, a general sports room of 12.000 places, a covered Olympic swimming pool, a center media of 650 m ², a conference room, a meeting room, an health care center and a center of fight anti-doping.

The stage Mohamed V is in full center town of Casablanca, to 25 km of the international airport of Casablanca, and to 5 km of the railway station Put-Travellers, it in addition has a carpark of a capacity of 1.000 cars.

RéLors of the season 2006-2007, the stage was closed and reopened in April 2007. It is currently equipped with an semi-artificial lawn of very good quality.
