The Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas is the sporting enclosure of the town of Bordeaux which accommodates mainly the football team of the Girondins of Bordeaux. The stage changed name into 2001.

Old “the Stade of the Park Lescure ” bears from now on the name of the politician Jacques Chaban-Delmas who was mayor of Bordeaux of 1947 with 1995.

It was built in the form of stage Vélodrome in 1935 to accommodate the Football world cup of 1938. It was the first Stade in the world to have platforms entirely covered without any pillar obstructing the visibility of the public. Classified historic building, its restoration is difficult, the roof not covering the places built after 84 on the old track of bicycle, nor the turns.

The tunnel connecting the cloakrooms of the players to the ground is longest of Europe (meadows of 120 meters).

Its capacity of reception is today of 34.440 people, following various work of setting to the standards, in particular for the Football world cup of 1998.

Since the summer 2007, the stage is equipped with two giant screens of 37 m ² of surface each one in preparation for the reception of several matches of the world cup of Rugby 2007.
