Staff meeting

In France, the staff meeting is a generally quarterly meeting of all the professors of a class of college or college, as well as chief of establishment and Principal adviser of education. The pupils are represented there by the class representative, and the parents by the associations of parents of pupils.

The staff meeting is usually divided into two parts: a general assessment of work and life of the class, then the examination of the individual cases. The staff meeting puts forth proposals of orientation which or not the chief of establishment validates. He decides attribution of the encouragements and congratulations. On the other hand, it cannot sanction a pupil (e.g. warning): it is the role of the chief of establishment or the disciplinary board, in the respect of the principle of the contradictory one. In the event of dissension, the major pupil or his family, after being themselves maintained (E) with the chief establishment, can however, at the end of an academic cycle, making call of the decision of orientation in front of a composite commission with parity of professors and parents of deputy pupils. Between two years of the same cycle, the final decision returns entirely to the major pupil or his family.
