The university football team American of NC State Wolfpack evolves/moves in this enclosure inaugurated in 1966. This stage is the property of the North Carolina State University.

This stage replaced the obsolete enclosure of Riddick Stadium, which went back to 1907. It was inaugurated in 1966 under the name of Carter Stadium in the honor of Harry C. and Wilbert J. " Nick" Casing, two graduates of NC State which financed the construction of the stage mainly. The name of Albert E. Finley, another important giver of NC State, was added later.

The capacity was of 57.500 places in 2005, but following work, the stage counts 60.000 places with the opening of the season 2006.
