Stacey Kent
Stacey Kent is an American singer of jazz, born in South Orange (New Jersey).
Biography
Stacy Kent, after having obtained its diploma in comparative literature with the Sarah Lawrence College of New York, left in Great Britain, where it followed the courses of the Guildhall School off Music and Drama , and having met the sax tenor Jim Tomlinson, that it married in 1991.Its first album, Closed Your Eyes , leaves in 1997. Five others will follow, as well as participations in the albums of Tomlinson, of which lately The Lyric (2005), which gained the price of the album of the year to the BBC Jazz Awards 2006. Itself gained the price of better vocalist to the British Jazz Award (2001) and BBC Jazz Award (2002).
Its album The Boy Next Door was certified Disque of gold in France in September 2006.
One saw it with the cinema in the adaptation of Richard Loncraine of Richard III (1995), where she sings a version jazz of a poem of Christopher Marlowe, The Passionate shepherd to his coils .
