Staatkundig Gereformeerde Partij

The Staatkundig Gereformeerde Partij (SGP), literally the political party reformed is a political party Dutch fundamentalist Christian. It is the only Dutch party which calls with a Théocratie.

History

The party was created in 1918. Pasteur G.H. Kersten was the engine of establishment of SGP. Since 1922 until today, the SGP was represented without discontinuance in the Room of the Dutch General states ( Tweede Kamer van of Staten-Generaal ). They is only Dutch parties created before the Second world war which always exists. It takes part in the capacity in certain municipalities, there imposing for example the maintenance of the closing of the trade Sunday. At the time them discussions to form a government coalition after the elections of 2003, the Call Christian-Democrat, victorious of the elections, wished to extend the coalition to the ChristenUnie and the SGP, but the liberals of VVD refused this option, especially because of the position of this party towards the women's rights.

Principles

The program of the party was founded while following the Bible. According to the SGP, the words of the Bible must be taken literally. The party aims at a theocracy, because he believes that God must lead the country.

The platform of its electoral program of election in 2002 was:
  • marriage and family
  • protection of the life
  • care of the patients and the disabled person
  • safety

  • the SGP aims at the establishment of a theocracy in the Netherlands.
  • the SGP wants to prohibit the work of the women.
  • the SGP is opposed to the right to vote of the women and thus refuses that they become members of the party with whole share.
  • the SGP is opposed to homosexuality. He wants to prohibit consequently that the homosexual ones can marry and that they can adopt children.
  • the SGP is a defender of the capital punishment.
