Spytihněv Ier of Bohemia

Spytihněv Ier is duke of Bohemia of 894 with 915, he is the oldest son of Bořivoj Ier of Bohemia and holy Ludmila of Bohemia. With died of his/her father, Spytihněv is still a child. The Bohemia falls under the jurisdiction from the Large-Moravie . Spytihněv benefits from the anarchy which follows the death of its suzerain Svatopluk Ier in 894 to seize the power.

The Bohemia is detached from the Large-Moravie , and approaches the empire of the Francs and particularly of the Bavaria. It takes part with Viteslav representing of the Croats of Eastern Bohemia in the Diète of Empire of 895 but benefits from the embarrassments of the king Conrad Ier de Germanie to refuse to pay the tribute. It propagates Christianity.

The Hungarian, which threaten the Eastern border of the country, are pushed back in 903.

It makes build the Notre-Dame church with the Château of Prague which receives its tomb and that of his wife. Its successor, according to the rule of the Seniority into force in the dynasty of the Přemyslides, is his brother Vratislav Ier of Bohemia.
