Spyker D12

The Spyker D12 Peking-to-Paris is a SUV 4 doors of luxury of the Dutch car manufacturer Spyker Cars. The model was presented to the Auto show of Geneva and the beginning of its production is planned for the end 2007. After this presentation, the manufacturer affirmed to have already received a hundred orders. The model had been presented initially to the North-American market, which will undoubtedly be its principal outlet, at the Auto show of New York in April 2006. The name Peking-to-Paris refers to the race-raid Peking-Paris which take place in 1907 of Beijing to Paris, and in which a Spyker car took part, led by the French Charles Goddard, it will finish second after 3 months of rally.

In spite of its weight of 1850 kg, the car should go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds and to have a maximum speed of 295 km/h. It will use an engine Audi W12 of 500 cv. Although SUV, D12 take again a certain number of characteristics of Spyker C8, a sport scar like the wheels " aeroblade" or fine rear view mirrors. Another originality of D12, the back doors are with reversed opening.
