The spritz is a alcoholic Cocktail been used for aperitif and largely consumed in the big cities of the areas Italy of the Venezia and the Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

The spritz is composed of white Wine (of the Prosecco for the high-end), of Eau of Soda to which a bitter alcohol more or less like Campari ( Spritz bitter ) comes to be added, Aperol ( Spritz dolce ) or more rarely of the Cynar, which give him a red color respectively, orange or black ambrée. Proportioning and the compositions vary from one establishment to another, Spritz can thus be very little or strongly alcoholic.

Spritz is the most popular aperitif with Venice and is very appreciated by the students with Padoue.

Spritz appeared in the area during the period under Austrian domination. Spritz of the soldiers was composed then of white wine and aerated water. With Trieste, one finds still today of Spritz rosso or bianco simply made up of red or white wine with aerated water.

The same composition is used for the " Şpritz" white in Eastern Europe (Romania, Moldavie, Hungary) in the countries which knew the domination of the Austrian Empire. It is a very popular aperitif in these areas.

The spritz is also a speciality pâtissière of Lorraine (French area). It is about a sanded and sweetened cookie which is made for the festivals of Christmas.
