Sprint (cycling)
The sprint is the last moment of a cycle race, when the runners accelerate to pass the finishing line at the head. There exist also the intermediate sprints generally located at the 1/3, 1/2 then 2/3 of the race. These sprint intermediaries bring back a certain number of points in the classification of the sprint. The runners specialized in this field are named the sprinters. The sprinters remain during the casi totality of the race within the group protected well from the wind. In the last 50 kilometers approximately their teams accelerate the rate/rhythm to go to seek the possible escaped ones or to precisely prevent that from other does not escape. At this time of the race the group borders a speed from 50 to 60 km/h. In the last kilometer the sprinter is taken along by his fellow-members then by his pilot fish.
