Springfield is an American city located in the county of Lane, State of the Oregon. At the time of the Census of 2000, its population was of: 52864 inhabitants, estimated at: 57065 in 2006. The settlement of the area begins in 1848. The city was built-in 1885. It seems that it owes its name with the fact that a pioneer named Elias Mr. Briggs built his house in pre located close to a source.

Many fans of the televised series Simpson think that this city is “ le ” Springfield in which lives the Simpson family. No episode reveals in which State this city is located (Springfield is a current toponym). The author of the cartoon, Matt Groening, remained there.
