Sporting Shooting
See also: Shooting
The sporting shooting includes/understands the Tir with the gun, the rifle and the crossbow (the Tir with the arc and the Sarbacane are regarded as sports with share).
The many disciplines of the sporting shooting in common have the use of a weapon to try to reach, with the maximum of precision and a repetitive way, a target located at a very variable distance. The targets, according to the disciplines, are located at distances from 10 to 300 meters (even more for the shooting long distance) of the gunner.
It is the third Individual sport practiced in the world (after the Tennis and the Golf). It is about a Sport diversified, thanks to these many disciplines, and which is practiced at any age.
The shooting is practiced in sporting clubs, gathered of national federations (French federation of Shooting for France), which coordinate each other between them on the level of international authorities (ISO for example).
Certain disciplines are Olympic: gun and rifle 10 meters compressed-air, gun speed and combined ladies with 25 meters which are practiced with guns of gauge 22LR, free gun and rifle with 50 meters, both also gauges 22LR of it.
The fact of using a Arme for ludic practices is strongly disputed by certain people who estimate that it is a factor of criminality; for them, the practice of the sporting shooting is a school of violence. This analysis is refuted by the partisans of the discipline, who estimate that the object has little importance in itself and that only the use imports that one makes some; on the contrary, the sporting shooting lays the stress on the calm one and the concentration, values contrary to violence. However, it is noticed that the high level athletes practitioner the sporting shooting are calm and considered people.

This is also valid for the gun with 10 meters.- Weapon: compressed-air standard rifle, gauges 4,5.
