Key dates of the S.C. Angouleme Rugby

the first steps of Rugby in Angouleme go back to 1893 - 1894.
Fall 1904, creation of Racing Angoumoisin Club and the Angoumoisin Stage.
In 2004, was celebrated the centenary of the first victory of a team of Rugby in Angouleme. February 28th 1904, the team of the " intrépides" composed of students batait the " aiglons" college of Niort.
Running winter 1905 - 1906, it is the creation of the S.V.A.: Sport Bicycle cipedic of Angouleme.
1907 : Modification of name S.V.A. in S.V.A.A. (Addition of Athletic).
February 15th 1910, creation of the SCA.
February 1910, adoption of the colors of the white shirt with collar and blue drill plate and low blacks.

1966 J.C. Bourrier is named general secretary of the FR.
1972, the SCA leaves the elite of the French Rugby to which it belonged without stopping since 1938. For 30 years with the club J. Lartigue has reached the presidency of the SCA.
1973, the club goes up in the 1st division.
1975, Maurice Colclough sign with the club.
1978, arrived of Maurice Camozzi.
1979, disappearance of J. Lartigue after 40 years of devotion to the SCA.
May 19th 1986, the SCA is for the first time of its Champion history of France vis-a-vis Voiron 22 to 17.
1990, the SCA goes up in " Group B" after one year of penitence in the 2nd division.
2002, left the section Rugby of the SCA Omnisport. Payment of the old debt of the club, thanks to the efforts of the lately elected executive team.
2003, the club changes its logo and becomes completely autonomous, it call from now on Sporting Club of Angouleme Rugby.
