Sport with Sète
The Sport with Sète is dominated by the practice of the Water tournament (eight clubs) and the football clubs of FC Sète, toilets sports shirt of the Dauphins FC Sète and of volley ball of the Arago de Sète. Moreover, Sète offers a site favourable with the competitions of veil while the Saint-Clearly mount is a high place of the Cyclisme.
Water tournament
the water tournament is “the” sport sétois par excellence. This sport is practiced in Sète since the inauguration of the port in 1666. The city counts six companies of tournaments plus a company-school, case single in France.The Grand Prix of Saint-Louis is the most prestigious tournament of water tournaments. This competition exists since 1743 and the 264e edition was held of the 22 with the August 29th 2006 along the royal channel. The final of the test queen, the heavy trucks, was held Monday August 28th.
The museum Paul-Valéry de Sète offers a space of permanent exposure to the tournaments.
Football Club of Sète 34
The club of Football which was the first in France has to sign one doubled Coupe de France - Championnat of France in 1934.The club evolves/moves since the Années 1990 with the Stade Louis-Michel after having used a long time the Stade Georges-Bayrou (or stage of the Smallholdings), become obsolete.
