Sport with Détroit
The town of Strait and its suburbs have a large variety of sports professional S and university S to follow. Most popular of the professional teams are:

- the Pistons of Strait of NBA (Basketball)
- the Red Wings de Détroit of LNH (Hockey)
Three of the teams play in the town of Strait. There are three active places of sports in the center town: The Comerica Park, residence of Tigers, of: 41070 places; the Ford Field, residence of the Lions, 65.000 places (normally can sit down at least: 80000 spectators if it is necessary) and the Joe Louis Arena, residence of Red Wings, of: 19983 places for hockey (: 20153 for the basketball). The Pistons play in the suburbs of Auburn Hills, with the Palace off Auburn Hills, a general sports room of: 22076 places.
The other sporting teams of the area include the Shock de Détroit of WNBA (female basketball), the Ignition of Strait of MISL (Football in room) and the Panthers de Détroit of ABA (minor league of basketball).
At the university level, there are the teams of the Université of Strait-Mercy and the Université of Wayne State, both in the town of Strait. The teams, with many supporters, Université of Michigan (are called the Michigan Wolverines) play approximately 50 kilometers in the west of Strait, with Ann Arbor. The Michigan Stadium is the greatest stage of American football in the United States, with 107.501 places.
Strait proposed to accommodate the Olympic Games of summer more often than any other candidate city not selected, taking part in the international Olympic elections of the Committee for the plays of 1944 (, behind gaining London), 1952 (5th rank), 1956 (), 1960 (), 1964 (), 1968 () and 1972 (). Currently, in 2007, the city considers a candidature for the OJ of summer of 2020.
