Spirit, the standard of the plains

Spirit, the standard of the plains ( Spirit: Stallion off the Cimarron ) is a American Cartoon film, carried out by Dreamworks, left in 2002.

Synopsis

Spirit is a standard which tells its history, that of the wild horses of the West. Growing in sumptuous landscapes of meadows and mountains, he lives peacefully in the plain, his principal desire being to run always more quickly. Joker and adventurer, it becomes impetuous but responsible for its clan once adult.

One night, it is attracted by a brilliant campfire to far. In spite of the warning statements of his/her mother, Spirit is well decided to meet this strange thing and arrives in a group of captureurs of wild horses. These horses are then brought to the army. Spirit accidentally awakes one of the men and in spite of a keen continuation is made capture. Taken along in fort to right in the middle on desert, it carries out hard life to men on Colonel, which decides to take it along to the corral, which is not still enough, and decides to bind it to a post without water nor food during 3 days. During this period, an Indian, Small Cloud, is captured in his turn and undergoes the same fate as Spirit. Once the 3 passed days, the Colonel decides to overcome Spirit but the strength of character of this last is immense and he manages to demolish himself of his rider. With the general surprise, Small Cloud, managed to cut its bonds thanks to a knife launched by his/her friends during the night, seizes Spirit, which smashes the doors of the stable and releases at the same time all the captured horses which escape then from the fort. But freedom is still not for Spirit, Petit Cloud being well decided to tame it. Spirit remains very distant vis-a-vis the Indian who decides to change tactic: it binds a cord between Spirit and Rivière, its mare, so that this one teaches him the good mannerss. Spirit softens a little, but always refuses to be let go up, though it has much more friendship with Petit Cloud. Any rocker again when the army of strong attacks the camping. River is left for dead, Spirit is captured and, cut down by the loss of River, is let involve without opposing less resistance.

The two friends find themselves but are stopped at once by the arrival of the Colonel and two of his men who deliver a keen hunting to him. Spirit accepts for the first time that Petit Cloud overlaps it. Driven back at the top of a rock, Spirit gathers its last forces to achieve an extraordinary jump and jumps across canyon, his/her friend on his back. The colonel acknowledges himself overcome and lets them leave. Once of return to the Indian camp it is surprised to re-examine Rivière, still in life. Small Cloud accepts that Rivière leaves with Spirit and it is not without emotion that they separate. Once of return in its herd, Spirit sets out again finally with his worms of new horizons…
