Spiridon Trikoupis
Spiridon Trikoupis (in Greek modern: Σπυρίδων Τρικούπης ), born with Missolonghi the April 20th 1788 and deceased with Athens the February 24th 1873, was a Greek statesman and a Historien. After educatebeing educated in France and England, he became secretary of the Count de Guilford, secretary with teaching in the Ionian Îles.
He took share with the Guerre of Greek independence as of the beginning in 1821. Personal friend of Lord Byron, it was him which pronounced the funeral oration of the British poet in the cathedral of Missolonghi. Talented speaker, it was noticed at the assembly of continental Greece in 1825. He took share at the provisional government of 1826. He was briefly Prime Minister of Greece in 1833.
He was Ambassadeur of Greece with London between 1835 and 1838, 1841 and 1843 and finally between 1850 and 1861. He was also Ambassadeur of Greece with Paris between 1849 and 1850.
He published between a 1853 and 1857 Histoire of the Greek insurrection .
He was the father of Charilaos Trikoupis.
