Spinosad
The spinosad is a Insecticide.
It is a fermented product derived from the mixture of two Toxine S (Spinosyn has and D) secreted by a Bactérie alive in the ground, the Saccharopolyspora spinosa.
Action
The spinosad causes in little time at the Insecte an excitation of the driving Nervous system with involuntary muscular contractions, with the prostration accompanied by tremors and with the Paralysis. It acts quickly by contact and ingestion. The insect ceases feeding and paralysis can occur a few minutes after ingestion, death following within one to three days. For better results, like the product removes the Larve S, it is recommended to apply it when the thresholds of insects are reached and that blossoming of eggs is at its culminating point.
Targets
The spinosad is an insecticide (larvicide) with relatively broad spectrum approved for several cultures. It makes it possible to fight against:- the Colorado beetle of the Potato
- the European corn borer.
- larvae of the Carpocapse of apples and the pears, the Tortrix to oblique bands, of the trilignée Winding , the Tortrix of the apple tree, the European Tortrix and the Spade-button of the apple tree attacker certain fruits with pips (inter alia, Apple, Pear, Quince).
- larvae of the False-measuring worm of the cabbage, the Cabbage white butterfly and the False-tinea of the Crucifère S attacking certain vegetables (inter alia, Horseradish, Swedish turnip, Turnip, Radish), Cauliflower, Cabbage, Broccoli, Brussels sprout).
- the Fly of the olive ( Bactrocera olea ).
Toxicity
Spinosad is not very toxic for the Mammifère S, the Oiseaux, the Poisson and the Crustacés. It is however very toxic for the Abeille S: it is necessary to avoid the direct application and the drift of insecticide on the bees and the colonies of bees, like on the cultures into full Floraison. The product is also very toxic for the Invertébrés watery, harmful for the Parasitoïde S and the predatory Acarien S and slightly harmful for the predatory ones living in the foliage. The adoption of adequate strategies of management of resistance is recommended, because any population of insects can contain individuals who are already resistant to the active ingredient. The repetitive use of the same product can support the proliferation of these individuals. Thus, it is strongly recommended to use the spinosad (insecticidal group 5) in rotation with another insecticide of a group of pest-destroying products different.
Trade names
- Entrust 80W (Naturalyte - 2004) was approved a few years ago with the the United States and accommodated well by the biological producers.
