Sphinx bombyliforme

The form butterfly of this lépidoptère is called sphinx gauze or sphinx bombyliforme and it belongs to Sphingidae .

  • Period of flight: from April at August in two generations.
  • Habitat: this diurnal species is attracted by the blue flowers.
  • Plant-hosts: Lonicera , Gallium , Scabiosa succisa , Lychnis , Knautia and Dipsacus .
