Spheric Universe Experience is a group of progressive Metal French.

Biography

The genesis of Spheric Universe Experience goes back to 1999, when the guitarist Vince Benaïm decides to create a group of “progressive metal” while joining two old friends, the Sam beater and the bass player John Drai. Together, under the name of Spoil off Delirium , they occur in various clubs of the South of France, their area of origin. However, the formula “trio” imposes far too many limits to them, and the recruitment of a keyboard and a singer quickly becomes a priority so that the group can finally develop its own repertory. Thus in 2001, they are joined by Alex with the song and Fred Colombo with the keyboards. Choosing the name of Amnesya , the quintet gives many concerts and records a first demonstration. But of the musical divergences disturb this very new association quickly. In August 2002, Vince, John and Fred decide to leave Amnesya to form Spheric Universe Experience.

In April 2003, they record a demonstration for which they call upon a “singer of session” necessary to supplement the vocal parts. Thus Franck Garcia poses his voice for the first time on the compositions of Spheric. Contacted a few days only before the beginning of the recording, the singer has only very little time to assimilate this new repertory. Its performance is however more than convincing, since Vince & Co propose in Franck to join them “full-time”.

Entitled The Burning Box the demonstration is sent to several labels and agencies of management of which Intromental in Denmark, which signs them. In August 2003, with the assistance of Brice Volodia, a beater of studio, the group starts the recording of Mental Torments , its first album. The final mixing will proceed one year later in Jailhouse Studios under the direction of Tommy Hansen ( Helloween, Pretty Maids, Platitude …), little time after Replica Records decided to sign the group for a world distribution.

Racée and stylée, beyond the inevitable parallels with Dream Theater whose are “victims” the majority of the groups of prog metal, the music of Spheric Universe Experience can also be compared, by some of its aspects, with the first steps of Vanden Plas . However, those which one also calls “ S.U.E ”, are far from being slaves of their influences, on the contrary, for such a young formation, these “p' tits niçois” shows even an astonishing maturity which enables them to have already a strong personality. From one title to another, thanks to scientists arrangements, through some keys jazzy even latino and with a good amount of experimentation, they really succeeded in creating their own musical universe.

Spheric Universe Experience was recently joined by the beater Nicolas Muller. Called “Ranko”.

“ Mental Torments ” left on March 29th, 2005 on Replica Records and different other labels through the rest of the world.

The last album in date, “ Anima ” left on April 18th, 2007 to France and on May 22nd, 2007 everywhere else, always on Replica Records .
